Two Clovis men were arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of breaking into the home of a woman who chased after one suspect to get a good description of him, a police spokeswoman said.
The woman had returned to her home in the 100 block of North Hughes Avenue about 9:30 a.m. and found a side garage door unlocked and the door leading into the home open, said Janet Stoll-Lee, Clovis police spokeswoman.
The woman, who had been gone for about 90 minutes, heard noises and dialed 911. She saw a man run out the front door and chased after him. Moments later, she returned to her home to see a second man run out the front door, Stoll-Lee said.
Officers set up a perimeter in the area and arrested the two suspects, ages 18 and 20, a short time later. The men were taken into custody on suspicion of counts that included burglary and possession of stolen property.
