5 arrested after shots fired in Clovis brawl

Five people were arrested after a fight broke out and shots were fired in Old Town Clovis on Wednesday, police said.

The fight in the 400 block of Clovis Avenue was reported about 1:45 a.m. in front of The Cellar, police said. An officer arrested one person while other people ran to the back of the business and continued to fight.

After several people jumped into a black pickup that pulled away, two shots were fired from the truck. Police are still looking for a man who fired shots into the air. Officers later recovered a stolen handgun on the sidewalk near Fourth Street and Pollasky Avenue.

No one was hit by gunfire, police said.

The arrest charges included outstanding warrants, drunken driving, an open alcoholic container in a vehicle and a parole violation of drug sales, police said.
