The victim of Thursday night's shooting in southwest Clovis has been identified, the Fresno County Coroner's Office said.
Kay Daniels III, 31, was visiting friends Thursday evening in the courtyard of an apartment complex on the 500 block of West Ashlan Avenue near Helm Avenue when he was shot three times, Clovis police spokeswoman Janet Stoll-Lee said.
He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died.
The shooting has been determined to be neither a random act of violence nor a drive-by shooting. Police still are investigating the case.
