Man suspected in Fresno energy-drink thefts

The Fresno Police Department is asking the public's help to find a man who is suspected of stealing Red Bull energy drinks from two Fresno convenience stores.

Charles Burkhalter, 42, posed as a Red Bull representative and told store employees he needed to replace expired drinks, Lt. Don Gross said. He is suspected of stealing several cases of the energy drinks from Lucky Mini Mart at 105 N. Clovis Ave. on Feb. 2. Burkhalter was wearing a Red Bull shirt and carrying a clipboard during the incident, Gross said.

Burkhalter is also suspected of taking $837 in Red Bull drinks from the ampm convenience store at 5595 E. Olive Ave. on March 1, Gross said.

Police believe Burkhalter may also be connected to other thefts of Red Bull drinks from convenience stores throughout the central San Joaquin Valley.

Anyone with information is asked to call detective Doug Kirkorian at (559) 621-6336 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 621-STOP.
