Parolee with gun arrested in Fresno County

A parolee with a loaded handgun was arrested Saturday night by Fresno County sheriff's deputies, authorities said.

Spokesman Chris Curtice said the 41-year-old man has been sought the past two months.

Shortly before 10 p.m., he was located after deputies pulled over a car for a traffic violation near Clovis and Gettysburg avenues, Curtice said.

The parolee, a passenger in the car, was sitting next to a loaded, stolen 9 mm handgun along with stolen keys and hypodermic syringes.

He was booked on several counts, including possession of stolen property and gun charges.
