Clovis crash victim had .21 blood-alcohol level

A Clovis man who died early Jan. 2 when his car slammed into a concrete pillar had nearly three times the legal driving limit of alcohol in his system at the time of the crash, the Fresno County Coroner's Office said Wednesday.

Jeffrey Anderson, 22, had a blood-alcohol level of .21 when he hit the pillar on Sierra Avenue under Highway 168. He also had a small amount of THC, the psychoactive substance in marijuana, in his system, the office said.

Two male passengers in the car were taken to Community Regional Medical Center. Clovis police did not release their identities.
