Andrew R. Weiss of Weiss, Martin, Salinas & Hearst of Fresno, was installed as 2011 president of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada, an organization serving the interests of attorneys involved in the defense of civil litigation. Weiss is the fourth attorney from Fresno to become president in the association's 51-year history.


Corinne Lucero was appointed director of government relations at the University of California at Merced.

Deborah K. Boyett, an attorney with Walter & Wilhelm Law Group, received a Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating of AV, which is the highest rating available. Boyett practices in corporate and business law, trusts and estates and probate and real property.

Joni Davis and Steve Morgan of Royal Charter Mortgage were the top-producing loan officers for November.

Employees of the year for the city of Visalia Parks & Recreation Department were: Hugh Feliz, recreation coordinator in the Recreation Division; Victor Escamilla, senior parks maintenance worker in Parks & Urban Forestry; Danny Bruza and Madeleine Pitts, part time in Recreation; and Carlos Huerta and Gary Priday, part time in Parks & Urban Forestry. The employees were recognized for outstanding public service in 2010 at the department's annual holiday potluck luncheon in December.


Julie Caglia, broker-owner of Andy Realty Inc., was named Realtor of the year for 2010 by the Fresno Association of Realtors. Caglia has been a Realtor for 26 years.

The 2010 Tulare County Fair was awarded the top prize in its class for Outstanding 2010 Fair Radio Advertisements at the International Association of Fairs and Expositions annual convention. The fair also received the second-place award for 2010 Fair TV ads and third-place recognition for its black-and-white print ads.


Bank of Sierra earned more than $2,600 for the Fresno Area Down Syndrome Society. The money raised will be used to help provide programs that promote awareness of the developmental, educational and social potential of people with Down syndrome.

The Rotary Club of Fresno presented a check for $1,000 to Terronez Middle School for marching-band equipment.

New faces

James R. Harvey, Nancy Villarreal and Aimee N. Kircher joined the law firm of Klein, DeNatale, Goldner, Cooper, Rosenlieb & Kimball, LLP. Harvey joined as an associate attorney working in business litigation, Villarreal is an associate attorney in the firm's transactional department and Kircher is an associate attorney in the Fresno office working in the employment law department.

Dr. Desiree Rodgers joined Kaweah Delta Health Care District as a practicing developmental-behavioral pediatrician.

Amanda Bishop joined the law firm of Fishman, Larsen, Goldring & Zeitler as an associate attorney. Bishop practices in employment and civil litigation.

Eileen Tiso joined London Property Management as the manager and broker associate. Tiso is a certified property manager with 28 years of experience.

Susan Reneau joined Century 21 M & M Associates in Clovis. Reneau's primary focus will be residential and commercial properties and her services also include short-sale assistance as a CDPE, SFR.

Staci Emberton and Cindy Kiehlmeier joined Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery. Emberton is a cabinet designer with 17 years of experience in cabinet design. Emberton works with homeowners and contractors to design cabinets for new construction and remodels for both residential and multifamily projects. Kiehlmeier is the showroom lighting specialist with 20 years in the lighting industry. She works with homeowners, contractors and electricians to provide indoor and outdoor lighting for new construction and remodels.
