Dogs attack housekeeper in NW Fresno

Two dogs mauled a housekeeper this morning as she cleaned windows at a home in northwest Fresno, police said.

The English bull terriers, owned by the home’s residents, pulled the Clovis woman off a step stool and attacked her shortly before 10 a.m in the 6700 block of North Van Ness Avenue.

The woman sustained bite wounds and cuts throughout her body. She was treated for her injuries at Community Regional Medical Center.

The residents told police they knew the housekeeper would be working this morning, but thought she would be doing laundry inside the home. The residents let the dogs into the yard, not knowing the housekeeper was outside, they told police.

The housekeeper said the dogs also attacked her about two months ago.

The SPCA took custody of one dog, but the second dog reportedly was taken from the home by one of the residents, police said.
