There will not be a Clovis City Council election in March after council members voted unanimously Tuesday night to cancel it.
The March 8 election was canceled because no opponents surfaced to run against the three incumbents -- Harry Armstrong, Jose Flores and Bob Whalen.
By not holding an election, the city will save about $110,000.
The city expects it will get billed about $10,000 by the Fresno County elections division for work already done to prepare for the election, said Robert Woolley, interim city manager.
