Achievements

Barbara A. Hunt, trustee of the West Fresno Elementary School District/Fresno County Office of Education, received the California School Boards Association Masters in Governance certificate. The certificate program equips board members and superintendents with the knowledge and skills to support an effective governance structure.

Announcements

Julie Beltran was the top agent for new listings and open escrows, and Maria Chavez was the top agent in closed escrows, in November for Coldwell Banker Choboian Real Estate.

Lucas Phan was loan officer of the month for November at US Mortgage Home Loan Center.

Awards

The Duncan family of Duncan Enterprises is the recipient of the 2010 CHA Special Recognition Award from the Craft & Hobby Association. The award is presented to an individual or group for an extraordinary contribution in an activity that showcases the craft and hobby industry in a positive way. The award will be presented at the CHA 2011 Winter Convention & Trade Show.

David Orth, general manager of Kings River Conservation District, received the Emissary Award from the Association of California Water Agencies. The award recognizes individuals for remarkable contributions to California water by supporting and advancing ACWA's goals.

Kaweah Delta Health Care District was awarded a national Best Practice Award in Health-System Pharmacy by the American Society for Hospital Pharmacists. Coleen Moriarity-Suggs, Rheta Sandoval, James McNulty and Nicole Gann are members of Kaweah Delta Medical Center's Pharmacy Department.

Luelle Robinson received the "Best of the Best" Award by Avoya Travel at the annual Avoya Convention. Robinson received the award for this year's top seller of River Cruises by sending 234 people on Uniworld River Cruises alone.

Donations

The Rotary Club of Fresno presented a check for $1,250 to Valley Crime Stoppers for its Text Tipping Program and a check for $2,062 to the Fresno Council on Child Abuse Prevention for its Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Project.

Fresno Pacific University donated 325 frozen turkeys to the Community Food Bank.

C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. Fresno branch donated $5,000 worth of poultry to help fill the Community Food Bank's Holiday Meal Boxes.

New faces

Drs. Susan Logan and Praneetha Narahari joined University Surgical Associates. Dr. Logan specializes in general surgery and the surgical treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the liver, pancreas and biliary tract, and Dr. Narahari specializes in general surgery and laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Greg Simpson joined University Dermatology Associates.

Helle Petersen joined the team at the Claude Laval Water, Energy & Technology Center. Petersen has expertise in water processing, water treatment, pollution-impact assessment, finances and strategic decision-making.

Matt Garabedian joined Commercial West Associates in Fresno. Garabedian's primary focus will be on multifamily investments and retail leasing throughout the Central Valley.

James Wiggins, DO, joined Peachwood Medical Group, Clovis, as a family-practice practitioner.

Susan Ullom, Beverly Duncan and Rachel Engle joined Keller Williams Fresno as agents.
