The honors keep stacking up for Clovis native Chris Colfer.
Two days after earning a Golden Globe nomination for his work in the Fox musical/comedy "Glee," Colfer has picked up a nomination in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series category for the "17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards."
SAG awards recognize outstanding performances in 2010 in five film and eight primetime television categories. The awards will be broadcast 5 p.m. Jan. 30 on the cable channels TNT and TBS.
Colfer's got tough competition. Other nominees include: Alec Baldwin, "30 Rock"; Ty Burrell, "Modern Family"; Steve Carell, "The Office"; and Ed O'Neill, "Modern Family." Baldwin won last year.
"Sometimes I take out my SAG card and just stare at it for large amounts of time," Colfer says in a statement released by his publicist. "I'm completely shocked and honored. So happy for Jane [Lynch] and that our amazing cast was recognized too."
Colfer's "Glee" co-star, Jane Lynch, is nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category.
"Glee" is also nominated in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series category, which the show won last year. The other TV shows nominated are "Hot in Cleveland," "30 Rock," "Modern Family" and "The Office."
