Basketball highlights from Dec. 8

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Selma's Shawnice Sutton had 19 points in a 50-29 win vs. Arvin, and 10 points and 11 rebounds in a 50-21 win against Highland at the Shafter Tournament.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Clovis 6-foot-8 center Korey Anderson had 23 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in a 75-61 win vs. Lemoore at the Kings County Classic.

Cesar Aquino had seven 3-pointers and 24 points as Reedley beat Shafter 75-69 in overtime at the Kingsburg Lions Tournament.

Ethan Lenox almost outscored the opposition, going off for 25 points in Clovis North's 64-30 win against Fresno at the Kings County Classic.

Four Clovis East players hit double figures, led by Kevin Bailey's 25, and the Timberwolves defeated previously unbeaten Crespi-Encino 74-66 at the Oceanview Tournament of Champions. Crespi is No. 21 this week in the L.A. Times' Southland boys basketball rankings.

Josh Merritt scored 32 points to lead Immanuel in a 67-53 win against Fresno Christian at the Immanuel Holiday Tournament.

Adam Gamboa had 15 points, seven steals and five assists to lead Lindsay in a 73-39 win against Parlier. The Cardinals had 15 steals.

Central, No. 22 in the state, beat Bishop Montgomery-Torrance 60-52 in OT as Anthony Trammell scored 11 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter and OT combined at The Tournament in Santa Monica.
