A Fowler woman was killed in a three-vehicle hit-and-run crash Wednesday night near Clovis and South avenues in Fresno, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Lorri Lasotovitch, 50, was a passenger in a 2000 Pontiac Firebird that was hit by a 1988 Ford Bronco driven by Jacob Ward, 21, of Fresno. Lasotovitch, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the car and died later at a hospital. After initially leaving the scene of the crash, Ward turned himself in to the CHP office Thursday, CHP officials said.
According to the CHP, Ward was driving eastbound on South when he drove through the stop sign at the intersection. The Bronco collided with the Firebird, then a 1997 Kia LS before running off the road and starting on fire. The Firebird collided with a stop sign and overturned.
Three Fresno residents in the Kia, which also overturned, were not injured.
