Adelfa Lorenzano, Reedley College acting coordinator for Title V, was appointed to the statewide Youth Leadership Institute Executive Board. The YLI promotes civic responsibility and leadership to young people.

Keith Swinger and Latishia Sharer earned Wells Fargo Home Mortgage's Top 10% Award in the nation for August.

Gloria Gomar of Tulare and Ashley Catalina of Porterville were the top agents in overall sales in October for Premier Real Estate.

Reedley College students Julio Zepeda, Anthony Reyna, Derek Perez and Harmeet Dhaliwal took first place at the 14th annual Central California Engineering Design Challenge. Joshua Moreno, Maira Hernandez, Mauricio Calderon and Monica Silva, also of Reedley College, took third place. The competition was to design a vehicle that uses the wind generated from a fan to travel as far and straight as possible.

Michelle Verdugo was recognized for outstanding customer service for October by US Mortgage Center.

Cynthia Kennemer had the highest dollar-volume new sales for October, Lino Pimentel had the highest number of new sales for the month, Tammy Johnston had the most new listings and Matt Thompson obtained the highest dollar volume in new listings for Century 21 Jordan-Link & Company. Others named in the President's Gold Council were Luis D. Mota, Sam Sciacca, Claudia Sproles, Diane Brown, Tony Keller, Randy Wood, Jim Dougherty and Marge Hernandez.

Awards

Jared Martin of Keller Williams Realty Fresno received the Golden "R" award for his donations to the California Association of Realtors.

Wathen Castanos Hybrid Homes Inc. of Clovis was the 2011 National Housing Quality Award Bronze winner. The awards represent the best in quality-driven home building companies.

New businesses

Alliance Rehabilitation, 7065 N. Chestnut Ave. in Fresno, is accepting new patients for physical, occupational and speech therapy and may be reached at 478-5833. Physical therapist Christopher Telesmanic PT, DPT, and Maria J. Fermoile PT, DPT, OCAS, provide direct patient care. Telesmanic's primary focus is orthopedics with an emphasis on manual therapy, and Fermoile is a doctor of physical therapy and a board-certified orthopedic specialist with more than 22 years of experience. The company also has a staff of experienced and skilled clinicians who are board-certified orthopedic specialists.

Leon Jennings joined Valley Ag Insurance as a life insurance specialist. Jennings has more then 20 years of experience in the financial-services industry.

Dorothy Thomas joined Premier Valley Bank as vice president and Small Business Administration lending manger. Thomas' background includes credit analysis, business development, credit administration, portfolio management and secondary market lending.
