Thursday's Central Valley Stock Exchange event will feature real Valley start-up businesses looking for funding. But they won't likely get it on the spot.
Instead, guests receive $1 million in fake money to play venture capitalist. The idea, according to the host Central Valley Business Incubator, is to provide a forum for entrepreneurs to gain potential investment leads and attendees to learn about new businesses.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with networking, hors d'oeuvres and a no-host bar at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District's Liberty Ballroom.
A 6 p.m. trading session is followed by a program and dinner from Clovis restaurant Trelio's at 7:15 p.m.
