Clovis Botanical Garden and the Sequoia Chapter of the California Native Plant Society will hold a water-wise plant sale and fair 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Clovis Botanical Garden, 945 N. Clovis Ave.
The start of autumn is a good time of year to add new plants, bushes and trees. This year, products are geared to shoppers preparing for Fresno's first water meters. "You can make really wise decisions that use less water," says an event organizer, Ree Coy. "We know those water meters are coming to Fresno."
The sale will feature a variety of ornamental grasses and salvias that are appropriate for the Valley's Mediterranean-type climate as well as native California plants.
A drip irrigation demonstration is set for 9 a.m. Garden and design experts also will be available.
