After running a hair salon for three years in downtown Clovis, the owners of A Gentry Salon decided to open a clothing store next door.
The Boutique opened about two weeks ago on Clovis Avenue between Fourth and Fifth streets. Bree and Mark Gentry run both The Boutique and the salon.
Bree Gentry said women come into her salon all day, and often wait while their hair processes.
"I just felt like with that much traffic coming through the salon, people investing in the way they look ... the best thing to have next door would be a clothing store," she said.

The store, at about 1,000 square feet, sells women's clothing, handbags, jewelry and scarves.
Gentry said the business model of running a salon and boutique together seems to be working.
"Every day we're doing sales that are phenomenal for a little tiny boutique," she said.
On the move
Security First Bank in Fresno is moving to a new location on the southeast corner of Palm and Nees avenues. Bank officials said the move is designed to better serve customers.
Security First Bank had been in an office building near Manchester Center since 2007. Its new building will open Tuesday.
"Many of our customers are located in north Fresno, so this will be a more convenient location for them," said Robert Hemsath, president and CEO of Security First Bank. "We're very happy with this new facility and are confident that it will serve our bank and customers well in the years to come."
To celebrate the move, the bank is giving away eight iPads for the first eight weeks at their new location, 663 W. Nees Ave. Anyone stopping in to visit can enter the giveaway.
From shipping to cars
Brothers Dave and Leo Conner have gone from shipping packages to shipping people -- in rental cars, that is.
The two once ran a company that handled shipping for DHL Express, but sold their 83 trucks when DHL pulled out of the American market in 2008.
In recent months, they've been operating the Central Valley Automotive Group, which they bought in late 2009.
That company runs the Budget Rent-A-Car and Budget Truck Rental near Blackstone and Sierra avenues and the Avis car rental near Blackstone and Browning avenues in Fresno.
The car rental businesses are among few that are locally owned, Leo Conner said. Most are corporate owned, he said.
