Elaine's Pet Resorts is celebrating its 21st anniversary. The company offers day care, play time, overnight boarding, grooming and its newest Lodge & Learn Program and for the past four years, it has received the People's Choice Award for Animal Boarding Facilities. Owner and founder Elaine Nestell opened the company in 1989 and has locations in Fresno and Madera.

Hundred10 Design, an award-winning creative firm in Fresno is celebrating its third anniversary this month. Founding partners Layne Lev and John Milly combined their resources in August 2007 to create one of the only companies in the Central Valley solely dedicated to high-end website projects.


Clifford H. Dunbar, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Buckman-Mitchell Inc. in Visalia, was honored by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors for 20 years of leadership, including his ongoing pledge to education, commitment to excellence and dedication to the insurance profession.

Paul Gregory, Mercedes-Benz of Fresno sales consultant, was No. 1 in parent company Asbury Automotive Group Inc.'s national sales competition in July. Contestants were judged on vehicle presentation skills and proficiency.

Elizabeth Echols is the new Regional Administrator for Region IX of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Echols will oversee programs and services in California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii and Guam.

Agent David Dennie was appointed to Mutual of Omaha Insurance and Investments of Fresno Central Valley office.

Lucas Phan was loan officer of the month for July at US Mortgage Center.

Guy Willis was the top-producing loan officer for the month of June at Guarantee Home Loans. Brigitte Mercer and Jeff Merrill were also honored for their June production.

RE/MAX Gold is the exclusive marketing agents for Bratton Group Properties, a Central Valley developer with residential and commercial interests throughout the Valley.

DC Prince 918 won bred-and-owned bull class 3 at the 2010 National Junior Angus Show. Macy Perry of Prather is owner of the winning bull.

California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation local recipients are: Ashley Correia, Lemoore, $2,250 Carolyn Richard Memorial Award; Brett Behlen, Clovis, $5,000 Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarship Award; $1,600 scholarship winners are: Craig Diener, Five Points; Alison King, Atwater; Amanda Meneses, Tulare; Cassie Miner, Riverdale; Kristen and Lauren Stanfield, Hanford; and Steven Zimmerman, Coarsegold.


Timothy R. Sullivan, attorney at McCormick Barstow LLP, will share the 2010 Outstanding Achievement award for Best Publication for co-authoring, "California Real Estate Brokers: Law and Litigation." The award was presented by the Association for Continuing Legal Education, an international association of publishers and educators.

The Culinary Arts Professional program at the Institute of Technology in Clovis was identified as an "exemplary" Culinary Arts Program by the American Culinary Federation. The program also received a seven year reaccreditation by the ACF Foundations Accrediting Commission.

New faces

Taylor Cox-Hergenrader joined The Pillar Financial Group as director of business development for its Insurance Services Division. Cox-Hergenrader will focus on generating new property and casualty business.


Ed Noriega, PE, was promoted to associate/division manager at Mark Thomas & Company Fresno office. Noriega is responsible for project management, client relations and business development in the Central Valley.
