A fire that started Sunday outside the east-central Fresno apartment of a woman who had been evicted was intentionally set, fire investigators said.
The woman was to pick up belongings Saturday, but she was not seen at the fourplex on the 3700 block of North Cedar Avenue and she is not considered a suspect, fire officials said. No suspects were identified, said fire investigator Gerry Rodriguez.
Two units were burned and two others sustained smoke damage, said fire battalion chief Charles Tobias. The fire caused about $250,000 damage. No one was injured.
The fire started shortly before noon in the patio area of the woman's former apartment and spread up the exterior into the attic space, Tobias said.
