12:15 p.m.: Loyal Savaria, 78, who apparently walked away from his home the 2500 block of Barstow Avenue sometime before7 a.m., is being reunited with his daughter in Clovis tonight. A family friend was able to contact Savaria on his cell phone about 7:30 p.m. and learned he was near the intersection of Adams and Bethel avenues in Fresno County.
Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies and paramedics found Savaria somewhat dehydrated, but otherwise all right. Paramedics treated and released him to the family friend, who is driving him back to Clovis.
Savaria suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and hearing loss. He last wandered away from home at the end of May and turned up at Manchester Center.

Clovis police are asking for the public help in locating a 78-year-old man who walked away from his home this morning.
Loyal Savaria, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and hearing loss, left the home in the 2500 block of Barstow Avenue sometime before 7 a.m., a police spokeswoman said.
Savaria, who lives with his daughter, has the mental capacity of a 5-year-old, the daughter told police.
Savaria is described as having a fair complexion, white hair and a white mustache and beard. He is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and has a dime-sized age spot on his left cheek. He may be wearing a T-shirt, jeans and a silver wristwatch, police said.
