A 57-year-old former speech therapist has been arrested by Clovis police in connection with Internet child pornography, police said.
Derek Pitre, a former Clovis resident, was arrested April 27 after a four-month investigation by Clovis police and U.S. customs agents.
Detectives found more than 130,000 images and 4,000 videos of young girls on Pitre's computers, police spokeswoman Janet Stoll-Lee said. In addition, 16 boxes and garbage bags filled with printed photos from his computer files were found in a storage unit used by Pitre, Stoll-Lee said.
It was not immediately known if any of the videos involved children with whom Pitre treated as a therapist. Most of the computer images were purchased from Internet sites in Russia, the investigation concluded.
