Clovis City Council members are set to discuss Monday night rate increases for sewer service -- including hikes of more than 20% in each of the next three years.
Residential customers now pay $14.62 a month. In August, rates are proposed to rise to $17.84, or as high as $23.09, depending on the alternative selected by council members.
Under one of three alternatives, those rates could nearly double to $28.09 in 2012. Other options include smaller increases with surcharges ranging from $5 to $8 a month. The surcharges would raise residential rates as high as $29.53 in July 2013. The surcharges would be eliminated in 2014, but smaller increases would remain in effect, raising rates to $21.47 in 2015.
Monday night's meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Clovis City Council Chambers.
