New information in the search for a man wanted for attempted murder in Madera County reveals that he is not responsible for trying to run over a deputy Thursday, authorities said.
Madera County deputies learned Saturday that the man who tried to run over a deputy was not Donald "Donny" Austin, but an associate of his, Eric Cyrus Henderson, 44, of Madera.
However, Austin, who is suspected of intentionally hitting a go-cart head-on in a March 17 incident, remains on the loose. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff's Department at (559) 675-7770 or (800) 560-4911, or CrimeStoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
