A former teacher was sentenced Monday to 30 years in federal prison, to be followed by a lifetime on probation, for a child pornography conviction.
Clovis resident Ephraim Aguirre II, 29, worked as a substitute teacher and a temporary teacher in Fresno Unified from February 2006 to June 2008.
U.S. District Judge Anthony W. Ishii said Aguirre must pay restitution to two victims depicted in the images he possessed.
Authorities said the Clovis Police Department began investigating Aguirre after receiving information about his possible sexual abuse of a 17-year-old who was at one time a teacher's assistant in a history class he taught.

Investigators recovered images of child pornography from a laptop that Aguirre had given a former student.
Investigators later found evidence on a second computer Aguirre owned that he had used it to trade child pornography with dozens of other people throughout the nation and abroad.
