Clovis officers hurt in struggle with suspect

Two Clovis police officers received minor injuries Monday while arresting a suspected prowler who kicked, hit and bit the officers. One officer injured his hand, the other injured a wrist, said Clovis police spokeswoman Janet Stoll-Lee.

Police were called to Mitchell and Terry avenues about 1 a.m. and found a 30-year-old Clovis man wearing black clothing and gloves. Officers struggled to handcuff the man, and during the struggle a loaded handgun fell from the man's shoulder holster, Stoll-Lee said. Officers used a stun gun to help subdue him.
