A 21-year-old Fresno County gang member suspected of raping a girl was jailed Thursday night, authorities said.
Madera County sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart said the man is accused of sexually assaulting the girl at a home in Madera County on Valentine's Day weekend.Two deputies tracked the man down at a home in Firebaugh, she said.
The man, on parole for armed robbery, was booked into Madera County jail on a no-bail hold, Stuart said.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office will have a training exercise from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Friant Dam area, authorities said.
Residents should not be alarmed by the activity in the area.
Fresnan convicted of aggravated mayhem
Antonio Garcia was convicted of aggravated mayhem, assault and criminal street gang participation by a Fresno County jury, the Fresno County District Attorney's Office said Friday.
Garcia, 22, of Fresno also was convicted of gang enhancement violations for a crime on Nov. 13, 2008, District Attorney Elizabeth Egan said. Garcia faces 15 years to life in prison.
Fresno mayor to help ballot measure effort
Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin is scheduled to be at the Fresno Fairground today collecting signatures to qualify a statewide ballot measure to stop the state from taking or borrowing local government and transportation funds.
Supporters say the November ballot measure is needed to protect funding for public safety, emergency response, parks, and transit projects.
Other officials scheduled to be at the fairground are Fresno City Council Member Blong Xiong, Clovis City Manager Kathy Millison and San Joaquin City Manager Cruz Ramos.
Grants to fight gangs
More than $9.2 million will be split among 24 California cities to fight gang violence in the state, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced Friday. Fresno County will get $382,639. The grants are from the governor's California Gang Reduction, Intervention and Prevention initiative.
