A 49-year-old man wanted in connection with more than three dozen commercial burglaries in Clovis, Fresno and Las Vegas was arrested Tuesday night as he emerged from a Speedy Lube in Clovis, police said.
A Clovis officer saw a smashed window at the Speedy Lube on the 700 block of Clovis Avenue about 9:30 p.m. The officer then saw a man walking out of the business wearing a ski mask and gloves. Police learned the man was wanted in Las Vegas in connection with 20 commercial burglaries.
The man told officers he knew there was an arrest warrant for him in Nevada, so he decided to stay with relatives in the Fresno County area. Clovis police said their detectives have tied the man to 10 burglaries in Clovis and nine in Fresno, ranging from restaurants and lube shops to flower shops and gyms.
The man was booked into the Fresno County Jail.
