Children playing with matches sparked a fire Monday afternoon that destroyed the second story of a home south of Fresno.
Three children and an adult were in the home on North Avenue west of Clovis Avenue when the fire started, but all escaped uninjured, Cal Fire spokesman Capt. Johnny Dominguez said.
He estimated the children's ages at 5 to 7. No other details about the family were immediately available.
The fire was reported about 1:30 p.m. About 20 firefighters on six Cal Fire trucks and engines fought the fire.

The sturdy construction of the older home kept the flames from spreading to the first floor, Dominguez said.
