Valley set to light fuse for July 4 fests

Valley communities will celebrate the July 4th holiday with food, music, activities and a full array of fireworks shows. Here is what's planned:

Friday

Kerman: Gates open at 6 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m. Kerman High School stadium, 205 S. First St. $5, $3 ages 4-10. Details: (559) 846-6343.

Kingsburg: Gates open at 6 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m. Kingsburg High School stadium, 1900 18th Ave. $5, $3 ages 3-12. Details: (559) 897-1111.

Lindsay: Fireworks at dusk during the farmers market. Sweet Brier Plaza, Sweet Brier and Hermosa avenues. Admission: free. Details: (559) 333-1994.

Clovis Freedom Fest Fireworks: Gates open at 5 p.m. Entertainment and food booths. Buchanan High School stadium, 1560 N. Minnewawa Ave. Admission: $5.

Coalinga: Program begins at 8:30 p.m. Grassy area between Bishop and Dawson Elementary schools, Sunset Street near Cambridge Avenue. Admission: free. Details: (559) 935-2948.
