Fresno police raid yields stolen automotive parts

Police officers have recovered several stolen Honda engines and other automotive parts after raids on a Fresno business and a Clovis home.

California Highway Patrol Sgt. Leonard Sherman said members of Fresno's Help Eliminate Auto Theft task force searched AS Performance in Fresno on Tuesday and Wednesday after receiving reports of suspicious behavior.

The officers found several cars with altered or removed identification numbers, as well as engines and transmissions that were stolen out of cars.

A simultaneous search of the business owner's Clovis home resulted in the recovery of other stolen auto parts.

The 22-year-old business owner has been charged with operating a chop shop and being a felon in possession of a gun.
