Clovis police have arrested a 28-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of breaking into and stealing from vehicles during a softball tournament at Buchanan High School over the weekend.
The Los Angeles man and his teenage cousin from Fresno were taken into custody about 2:30 p.m. Sunday after reports that they had been prowling in parking lots, police said.
Witnesses told police dispatchers the suspects matched the description of two men stealing from vehicles in the same parking lots on Saturday. The 17-year-old had a home-constructed tool that could be used to open vehicle door locks, police said.
The two were arrested on suspicion of grand theft and possession of burglary tools. The teenager also was booked on violation of probation.
