A Southern California man is dead following a crash near Woodlake in Tulare County on Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP determined a 41-year-old Northridge man was driving a 2016 Volkswagen east on Echo Drive but missed a curve at Piedra Avenue. The CHP was notified of the crash shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday, but it’s not known what time the crash occurred.
The vehicle slammed into a metal wire fence and overturned in a grass field before coming to a stop on a boulder, the CHP said. The driver was fatally injured.
The man was not wearing a seat belt but was not thrown out of the vehicle, the CHP said. He was not identified, pending notification of family.
