The Mineral fire west of Coalinga had burned 7,050 acres by Thursday evening as firefighters struggled to bring it to 25 percent containment in rough, hilly terrain.
A spokeswoman for Cal Fire said six structures are threatened by the blaze, and a home and an outbuilding have been destroyed.
The fire is burning near Highway 198 and Mineral Springs Road, about 8 miles west of Coalinga. More than 1,500 personnel are fighting the fire, which erupted Monday evening.
An evacuation order was lifted Thursday for residents in the Los Gatos Canyon area. Coalinga Mineral Springs Road remains closed, while Highway 198 is closed at Alcalde Road in Coalinga and at the Fresno-Monterey County line.
