A teen girl from Visalia reported missing has been found safe at a friend’s house after her parents reported her disappearance, police said.
The 16-year-old girl was last seen Friday morning at Mount Whitney High School where she is a student.
Jasmine Brianne Ramirez reportedly had a disagreement with her parents “that prompted her to go out on her own,” Lt. Ed Lynn said.
Several detectives were assigned to the case – but it was her parents who found her.
In this case, she was found safe.
Lt. Ed Lynn, Visalia police
She was reported missing at 7:45 p.m. Friday and was found about 1:45 a.m. Saturday.
Police asked the parents to help in the search, Lynn said. The family had recently moved, so they drove to the old neighborhood. There, they went to the home of one of her friends and found her, Lynn said.
There’s strong public interest when a young person goes missing because “you hear these stories” in which the missing person is harmed, Lynn said.
“In this case, Lynn said, “she was found safe.”
