Pixley man thrown from motorcycle near Porterville

A 63-year-old Pixley man was seriously injured when he was thrown from his motorcycle east of Porterville on Wednesday, the California Highway Patrol said.

The accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. on Reservation Road, east of Highway 190.

Arnold Martinez was traveling approximately 45 mph when he made a wide turn on the mountainous road and lost control of his 1981 Suzuki.

He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

The accident is still under investigation, but drugs and alcohol are not considered to be a factor, the CHP said.
