Two people died and two more were injured after an SUV rolled over near Coalinga on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A red Ford Explorer was headed south on Interstate 5 south of El Dorado Avenue when it rolled just before 9:40 a.m., CHP said.
The cause of the solo-vehicle crash remained under investigation Sunday afternoon.
About three hours earlier in the day, at least one person died following a crash in Madera, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle hit a tree around 6:22 a.m. on northbound Highway 99 at the Highway 152 connector, according to CHP log information.
The roadway was closed and reopened around 7 a.m.
At least one person was taken to the hospital via Skylife helicopter, and another was taken via ambulance.
No other information was immediately available.
