A two-year-old child nearly drowned after the kid was left unattended and fell into a pool Saturday night in Clovis, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 8 p.m., Fresno sheriffs responded to Bernadine Drive near Ashlan and Clovis Avenues, where the toddler was rushed to Clovis Community Medical Center and later transported to Community Regional Medical Center.

The toddler had a heartbeat when he/she was taken to the hospital, but the child’s condition remained unknown as of late Saturday.

According to Fresno County Sheriffs, it appears the child was left unattended for approximately 10 minutes before the toddler was found in the pool by the parents.

CPR was performed before deputies and EMS arrived.
