Motorcyclist dies in collision near Sierra High School, CHP says

A 64-year-old man died in a motorcycle crrash on Lodge Road on Saturday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. on Lodge Road east of Wintermute Lane in front of Sierra High School in Tollhouse.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was driving a 2007 Suzuki Motorcycle eastbound on Lodge Road. As he navigated through the curve he crossed onto the opposite lane where he overturned on his right side and collided with a 2000 Ford Ranger, according to a CHP news release.

Katharine Bradford, 43, of Clovis was driving the Ford Ranger westbound on Lodge Road and attempted to dodge the motorcycle but hit it with the left front of her vehicle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bradford sustained no injuries.

It does not appear that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision, the CHP said.

This collision is under investigation.
