A magnitude 3.0 earthquake shook the Madera-Mariposa foothills early Wednesday morning.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the epicenter as near Ben Hur in southern Mariposa County, about halfway between Mariposa and Raymond. It happened at 2:10 a.m. and was centered about 2.5 miles below ground. Reports from people saying they felt the earthquake were centered around the rural area, and there were no reports of damage.
