Drivers heading south on Highway 99 will need to keep an eye out for some road construction work taking place over the next month.
Starting Monday, the Olive Avenue on-ramp and the Belmont Avenue off-ramp along the southbound freeway lanes will be closed. Workers will be building a new auxiliary lane between the two ramps and installing a new light system. The work is part of a ramp-metering project for southbound Highway 99.
The Olive on-ramp and Belmont off-ramp will be closed through March 13. Detour signs will be posted before southbound drivers reach Olive Avenue, and signs will be directing drivers on Olive Avenue to get on Highway 99 by way of the Belmont on-ramp.
