A man driving an old Ford Mustang crashed into a power pole in east-central Fresno around 4:40 p.m. after colliding with a car at Ashlan and Barton avenues.
Fresno police spokesman Lt. Joe Gomez said the Mustang was traveling west on Ashlan Avenue when a Chrysler 300 headed eastbound tried to turn left onto Barton Avenue. The Mustang bounced off the Chrysler, hit a light pole and then smashed into a power pole.
Gomez said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, but that “the Chrysler turned in front of the Mustang, but it looks like the Mustang was traveling at excessive speed.”
Both parties — the number of passengers and their ages were not provided — sustained minor to moderate injuries.
