Man was driving wrong way in Lindsay fatal collision

A 25-year-old man died early Monday after he drove his truck into oncoming traffic and collided with two other vehicles in Lindsay.

Police said the traffic accident happened at 5 a.m. near Highway 65 and Fresno Street and involved eight people who were all transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment. The 25-year-old, whose identity has not been released, was driving south on the two-lane road in a full-size pickup truck when he crossed into the northbound lane, sideswiped a minivan with six passengers and struck a smaller sized pickup.

The man was died at the hospital. Authorities are investigating whether he was impaired or not during the accident.

The 19-year-old driver of the smaller pickup was listed in stable condition Monday evening. Passengers in the minivan sustained critical and minor injuries, police said.
