CHP: Delano woman killed in collision near Parlier drove through stop sign

A woman killed early Monday in a collision at Manning and Bethel avenues near Parlier was identified by the Fresno County coroner as Christina Rodriguez, 26, of Delano.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred about 4:10 a.m. Rodriguez, at the wheel of a 2006 BMW 330i, was southbound on Bethel Avenue when she drove through a stop sign at Manning Avenue, the CHP said. Her car was broadsided by a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Demetrio Salinas, 47, of Parlier. There is no stop sign for Manning Avenue traffic at the intersection.

The BMW skidded across Manning into a concrete wall. Rodriguez died at the scene.

Salinas sustained major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
