A thunderstorm is expected in the San Joaquin Valley on Tuesday and Wednesday, said the National Weather Service in Hanford.
Rain amounts will range from a few hundredths of an inch in Kern County to about half an inch in the central San Joaquin Valley, the weather service said.
Fresno will get three-tenths of an inch Tuesday and Wednesday, meteorologist Jim Anderson said.
A small amount of rain is also expected in the Central Valley on Easter Sunday.
Snow levels will remain at 4,000 feet on Tuesday in the Sierra, but the snow will fall to 3,000 feet Wednesday.
Snow levels in the Kern County mountains will be at 5,000 feet Tuesday evening and will fall to 4,000 feet by Wednesday morning.
The Grapevine may receive an inch of snow by Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service said driving will be hazardous on mountain roadways.
