Donations sought to help family of Fresno pediatrics office shooting victim with memorial costs

An online donation account has been created to raise funds for a memorial service for Zyang Vang, 33, who was killed in a murder-suicide Tuesday in the downtown Fresno medical office where she worked.

The account at www.gofundme.com/ZyangVang was set up by SANG Pediatrics, where Vang worked and where she was shot and killed by her estranged husband, Neng Moua, 43, before he shot himself.

The GoFundMe account states any additional funds not used for the memorial service will go directly to Vang’s family to help them during this difficult time.

SANG Pediatrics owner Dr. New Sang was out of town when the shooting occurred. He returned to Fresno late Wednesday night.

“My priorities for the immediate future is to focus on the well-being of the family of our dear colleague and friend, Zyang Vang, and the well-being of my staff and patients who were present when the gunman entered our building,” Sang said in a statement released Thursday afternoon. “As we speak, a highly capable support system is being assembled to help those affected by this tragedy. ... Please continue to keep the family of Zyang Vang in your thoughts and prayers.”

On Thursday, Sang did not have an estimated time for reopening his medical office.
