Danzantes Unidos Festival returns to Fresno

The Danzantes Unidos Festival brought more than a thousand people of all ages to Clovis West High School this weekend to learn about folkloric dances, music and cultural arts.

The three-day festival includes workshops and showcase concerts for participants at the Warnors Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Fresno. The festival, which began at UCLA in 1979, takes place annually during the Palm Sunday weekend and has been held at different sites in California, including Fresno for the past five years.

It offers movement classes, lectures, costume showing, visual arts workshops, dance presentations and musical recitals and provides an opportunity for Mexican folk dancers to meet, study and perform.
