Local dairy industry accepting applications for princess contest

The California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB) is now accepting applications for the Kings County district dairy princess competition.

Applicants must be at least a junior in high school and no older than 21, be unmarried and have a relative or history in the dairy industry. Applications are available online at www.californiadairypressroom.com or by calling the CMAB office at (209) 525-6875. The deadline for applications is May 1.

The winner will represent the California dairy industry by appearing at schools, fairs, parades, industry meeting, service clubs and media events.

The district contest will begin at 6 p.m. June 26 at the Hanford Civic Auditorium. Current princesses Alexis Mello and Emily Rosa, both of Hanford, will transfer the honor to the winner of the contest.
