Coalinga city manager resigns

Coalinga city manager Rene Ramirez announced he is resigning from his post effective March 31.

Marissa Trejo, Coalinga’s human resources director, was appointed interim city manager. She assumed the role on Tuesday.

In a news release, city officials thanked Ramirez for his leadership over the past two years and wished him well in his new endeavors. No more information about his resignation was provided.

Trejo will serve as interim city manager while the city searches for someone to fill the position permanently. Recruitment for the position will be discussed at Coalinga’s next City Council meeting on April 2.
