HealthCorps students at Edison High School will join other organizations to offer a health, nutrition and wellness fair Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon at the high school cafeteria, 540 E. California Ave.
The health fair is open to the public.
The “Your Life Isn’t a Movie: Don’t Watch It Pass You By” fair will support HealthCorps’ mission to educate teens about the importance of nutrition, exercise, mental resiliency and engaging people in hands-on booths and activities.
The event also will allow students and staff to learn about hypertension, stress relief, disease prevention, depression, pregnancy prevention and care, addictive substances and substance abuse.
Other organizations participating in the event include Planned Parenthood, Sahaja Meditation, Childhood Poison Prevention, California Council on Gambling Problems, Health Coaches, AMO Relief Foundation and Babies First California and Obesity Prevention.
HealthCorps is an nonprofit founded in 2003 by heart surgeon and TV host Dr. Mehmet Oz and his wife Lisa to combat the childhood obesity epidemic.
