The Mental Health Board of Fresno County will hold a meeting on Wednesday to discuss a collaboration between mental and physical health services through Community Regional Medical Center, United Health Centers and Valley Health Team.
Spokeswoman Francine Farber said that mental health patients with mild and moderate cases treated collaboratively show a decrease in healthcare costs and hospitalizations. Patients with severe cases are referred to the Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health.
The meeting will also disclose findings from a site visit and tour of Fresno County Jail, Farber said.
The meeting will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Blue Sky Wellness Center at 1617 E. Saginaw Ave. in Fresno.
